Digg 3.0 Launches

Posted by Miles Evans

Digg!
Kevin Rose has just announced that Digg version 3.0 is being rolled out across all servers as we speak as promised a few days ago. There is an excellent podcast with Digg founders jay Adelson and Kevin Rose with screenshots over at techcrunch.

New features include more categories outside the technology tree grouped in containers. Thank goodness. Other tweaks include:

In addition to seeing what your friends have dugg, users can also just see stories more than one friend has dugg, further filtering new stories to what they might really want to see. Also, changing views between top stories and new stories won’t require a page refresh - Digg has added Ajax features (sparingly, they stress) to switch quickly between headlines and new stories, and among topics/containers.

Alright I have to admit I’m a huge digg fanboy. Congratulations to the digg staff on burying the editorial censors over at /. And reinventing the buzz machine. You can’t not be impressed. Get digging!
