Yahoo Index Update Oct 10, 2006
Posted by Miles Evans

Yahoo’s Search Blog posted a weather report on their blog yesterday which seems to have gone almost unnoticed. What this really means is that the Yahoo index was updated some time last night. From the announcement: "As usual, you'll see some changes in ranking along with shuffling of the pages that are included in the index."
Across most properties I noticed some fairly major changes which is nice but I don’t see a lot of discussion as, Barry Schwartz points out. Does nobody track Yahoo results or...?
Check out the Yahoo Site Explorer forums for more. Aside from that the only other mention I see of the update was this thread at digitalpoint.

You're right, nobody cares. I've never had a client ask me why they aren't in Yahoo or told me they got a lead from Yahoo although I know they're there and are getting traffic. Must suck to be number 2!
