SES China - Behind the Iron Curtain
Posted by Miles Evans

Wow what an exhausting weekend. The good news is I was comped a couple of press passes and a great hotel deal for the Search Engine Strategies China conference in Nanjing on the 17th, and 18th of next week. Thanks Inway! The bad news is scoring a Chinese visa and buying plane tickets at the last minute in Bangkok is a major ordeal. The visa alone took all day to organize – and for some reason all the flights out were booked so I was stuck paying double fare. On top of all that I wasted all weekend running around preparing for the event - business cards, handouts, portfolio, a haircut, that type of stuff.
So next weekend me and the Nutter will be in Nanjing, which is about 1.5 hours outside of Shanghai by rail. After 5 years in Asia I have yet to see China so I’m quite stoked to be able to attend. I have been experimenting recently with marketing to a Chinese audience as they are already a major force online dollars wise, and I think this is a golden opportunity to lay some foundation. If I can swing it I plan to serve some live’ish podcasting and maybe even shoot some video for you guys to enjoy. There might even be some booth babes. w00t.

For more information check out my podcast (6:47 | 6.37mb) at the top of this entry where I go over what sessions are on tap. Some of them are quite interesting. And yes I realize I have a crap radio voice. Two takes was all I could stand.
