Some Quick Google Blather

Offline Google continues to infuse itself into our culture. Check out the latest example of assimilation through entertainment from last weekends Saturday Night Live. Imagine having (free?) product placement like this. Props to Justin Pfister for the clip.

In online news it looks like Google has finally added a referral program to Adwords called, you guessed it, Adwords Referrals. By using the button below…

...you can make $20 every time someone you refer to Adwords spends $100.
Google Related Links is new for April. This is a contextually displayed box pulling content from Google's other services. For now GRL is only available via Google Labs for those of us with 10,000 impressions/day. They aso ask that you contact them first.
On that note I saw an interesting usage of Google Related Links on Jobert's blog pictured below. He has fused the Related Links with an Adsense paid link unit, thus possibly making these new units able to earn a profit.

And finally SEW is reporting that Google Adwords have incorporated a new position preference feature. You can now choose to only have your ad appear in the first few positions – often referred to as the money spot. Although this is pretty cool it obviously will not lend much help to you actually nailing those spots any easier ;)
