Article Post Robot Review

How would you like to be able to submit your fresh articles to over 200 article sites and mailing lists, at the click of a button? Not just any article sites either but the ones you select. Until today I was doing this by hand. Not anymore! Article Post Robot is a Win32 application which automatically submits your article to as many article submission websites (via 1 click) as it holds in its database. From the developer David Tang in a recent email:

“Also, just to let you know, we continuously add more article sites to the software and have a new release nearly ready. This will include some nifty new features and 50+ new article sites bringing the total up to 240. Currently, it has 187 sites and 51 lists.”

David has been quite active updating his program as it has gone through 3 major revisions leading up to the current 1.0.3 version which I will be reviewing. Too many software vendors these days release 1 version only, especially in the online marketing space.

As always the first thing I did was open up the included users manual. Article Post Robot requires the Miscrosoft .NET framework 2.0 and I was ready to go. The first thing I notice with Article Post Robot is the interface is very clean. Initially you are faced with a username/password box which authenticates with David’s server to keep the warez people out. Along the top of the application (see screenshots) are several tabs allowing you access to all features.

The Article Sites tab contains a list of ezine article sites with checkboxes allowing you to choose which ones you wish to submit too. As pointed out in the program, several of these require no username/password but for many of the popular ones you will need to check out their website to make an account. Thanksfully Article Post Robot makes this easy to do via a right click menu for each site. I have been blasting out articles for several months already so I was setup with many of these sites. For my testing I used three of my favorites: ezinearticles.com, goarticles.com, and articledepot.co.uk (no authentication required). So it is very straight forward choosing which sites you will be submitting to.

The MailList tab is identical to the Article Sites tab except the list presented are mailing lists. You may submit to the Article Lists, the Mailing Lists, or both. For my testing I submitted to Google Groups.

The next tab, Article Options, allows you to set your article’s title, subtitle, up to 5 categories, keywords, and your article summary. Again fairly straight forward.

The next tab, Article Content, contains the main body of your article.

Warning: Be sure to spell check your articles and review the editorial guidelines of all submission sites or you are really just wasting your time. However, if you are lazy a good rule of thumb to follow for links is: 0 in the article summary, 6 in the body of your article, and 2 in your plug box at the end of the article. I usually avoid any fancy title tags just to be safe. Also images and affiliate links are an obvious no-no. Again these general rules are NOT indicative of every article site so read each sites’ editorial guidelines first.

Pay special attention to the Author Options tab as it contains delicate information about the submitting author. You may also add as many authors as you want to Article Post Robot, which is useful for a group of writers or for submitting for multiple websites. Also on this tab is the First Name, Last Name, Location, Website, Pen Name, Email, and the Biography field (containing your all important backlinks). Don’t forget to properly SEO your backlinks in your biography area with anchor text etc.

The Email Template tab is for submitting to Mailing Lists. You can customize this page as much as you like using variables like %%AUTHOR_NAME%% and %%ARTICLE_CONTENT%%. Preview, import and save buttons are also included. I had no problems at all with the interface and it is great that this is editable.

The final tab, Other Options, contains the remaining configuration settings as well as the big green submit button. Settings here include SMTP server configurations for posting to news groups as well as timeout settings, posting method (automatic or manual), and the ability to specify posting to either articles or news groups, or both. Again very clean and simple.

Upon exit Article Post Robot saved all of my settings automatically, something plenty of other home brew apps do not. There are also some useful features under menu --> application. You can backup/restore login information, so you do not have to input it again in case of a software update. You can save all the options to a project file for later use, or use it to group different sites you manage. Very very slick in my opinion and demonstrates the work put into this program.

So how well did it work for me?! Resoundingly WELL! Although I only tested 3 websites I have heard from others submitting hundreds. What I can tell you is that submitting articles is the do-all, end-all for collecting high PR backlinks and credibility. You likely know this. Article Post Robot had no problems whatsoever handling my submissions with 1 click as advertised and I am very impressed. Ok so the interface is extremely clean and newbie proof and I know that Dave is very quick and efficient handling questions from his customers. At $127 Article Post Robot may not be for everyone BUT if you are creating your own content (like I do) it is a must have tool - Period. It is well known that submitting original articles is the best way to garner permanent quality traffic and backlinks and Article Post Robot does a really terrific job of this. HIGHLY recommended!
